Filming at Stockeld
Stockeld is a popular location for TV dramas, films and photography.
Seat of the devious Lady Tara Thornfield for many year's in ITV's Emmerdale, Stockeld has also featured as a main location in the BBC's Wuthering Heights starring Tom Hardy, A Touch of Frost starring David Jason, and in the 2016 movie-adaptation of Swallows and Amazons starring Rafe Spall.
There are a range of different potential film locations on the Stockeld Estate, including:
-
Georgian mansion and gardens
-
Period chapel with working organ
-
Period stables and stores
-
Several farms and outbuildings
-
Extensive woodland, parkland and quarries
-
An enormous children's adventure park with indoor and outdoor locations
Stockeld is increasingly rare amongst properties of its kind in remaining a fully privately owned family home and estate. This allows for greater flexibility depending on the nature of the booking request.
